It’s All “Greek” To Me.

In just under two weeks I will make my move from Northern Michigan to the Southeast corner of South Dakota.  I am more than excited for this big move and can’t wait to start grad school.  With that being said, I am still really nervous about my Graduate Assistant position with Sorority and Fraternity Life.

While I have spent the summer researching the Lambda Chi Alpha chapter, listening to the first season of the Fraternity and Sorority Life podcast, reading articles online, and studying the Greek alphabet, I still feel like there is so much to learn about the world of Greek Life.  I still feel lost (cue the phrase “It’s all Greek to me”).

If you read my Character Traits page, you will see that I am an Accommodating learner, which means that I tend to learn best by feeling and doing.  That is what I intend to do with this GA position.  I am going to dive in, take it one step at a time, learn from the guys in my chapter, and get the most out of my experience working with Greek Life.

Despite my current nerves and my lack of knowledge of this particular community, I know that I will learn a lot, and have a ton of fun.  Even though it may seem “Greek” to me now, I know that the next two years are going to breeze by and I will get so much out of my time as a #SAGrad.

Two more weeks and I will be a South Dakotan, a Coyote, and a GA for Lambda Chi!
